Subaccount or root account installation

Scaffold is installed by updating the Canvas Theme settings. You are provided a JavaScript and CSS file that gets uploaded into your theme settings at either the Root or Subaccount level. 

Installing Scaffold at the Subaccount level ensures that its capabilities are only available for that Subaccount, while installation at the Root level means that all Subaccounts will benefit from Scaffold functionality. 

You can also install Scaffold in both. In this situation, the Subaccount instance of Scaffold will inherit the functionality. However, be aware of how inheritance works for the Subaccount as anything JS or CSS in the Subaccount will overwrite any same functionality in the Root account. For example, initial configuration will be based on the Subaccount, and if you had functionality that retrieved a student’s progress within the course in both instances, the Subaccount version of that functionality will be used.
